Westernport Election set

Five Westernport citizens are vying for the three open government positions in the municipal election to be held Tuesday, May 22.  John Thomas Martin and William E. Mayles Jr. are running for the office of mayor.   Daniel Laffey, the present mayor, chose not to seek re-election.  Of the five commissioner spots, two of the present commissioners decided not to run for re-election, and they are Fred Pritts and Bob Lupton.  Presently Pritts is the streets commissioner and Lupton serves as the finance director.  Those who filed for election to the Westernport commission, which is four-year term, are Michael Clayton Amoroso, Allen Shapiro, and Philip Charles Whetstone.
