Allegany County Public Schools has released the following statement to WCBC News:
As a precaution, Westmar Middle School is currently in LOCK-IN while law enforcement officials search for a suspect who fled from police. During a LOCK-IN, school security is increased while staff and students continue to operate normally within the school. All outside activities are suspended until the lock-in is lifted
1:40 PM UPDATE:
As a precaution, George's Creek Elementary School has now been instructed to initiate LOCK-IN posture until law enforcement locates the suspect. Updates will be posted once the lock-in is lifted.
