Although there have been some setbacks and a number of hurdles- the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad is gearing up to celebrate its 30th anniversary this year by expanding its offering of themed excursions. With costs mounting for the restoration of the steam powered engine 1309- the return of steam has been put on hold for the time being- with management now focusing its attention on adding additional family and adult-themed excursions. The railroad has continued operating using diesel engines to pull its trains. Railroad CEO John Garner….
