Just before 5:00 PM Saturday, Cumberland City Police were dispatched to a Park Street business for a report of a theft.
While officers were in route they were told that the female suspect was running towards Maryland Avenue. Officers arrived in the area and located the female running near Jefferson Street.
The female who was identified as Ashlie Nicole Rhodes was detained while another officer made contact at the business. It was determined that Rhodes had stolen merchandise from the store and fled after being confronted.
It was also discovered that Rhodes had a violation of probation warrant through District Court.
Rhodes was transported to Police Headquarters for processing. She was later taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was held on a $1,000 bond.
