Woman Charged After Bedford Street Disturbance

Just before 11 PM Saturday,, Cumberland Police officers were dispatched to a Bedford Street address for a female yelling and screaming at passing vehicles from her second floor apartment. 

Officers arrived and observed a female hanging out the second floor window yelling for help.  Officers made contact with the female who was later identified as Kelly Ann Dersin who reported that she was having an argument with another female who lives in the building.  They noticed that the door to another apartment appeared too had been damaged.  Officers made contact with resident of that apartment to discover that Dersin had caused the damage forcing her way into that apartment where she assaulted the owner. 

Officers attempted to speak with Dersin about the incident downstairs but she refused to cooperate.  Officers advised Dersin that she was under arrest and attempted to take her into custody.  Dersin shoved one of the officers and a brief struggle ensured.  Dersin attempted to resist officers and continued to attempt to break free.  Dersin was subdued and transported to Police Headquarters for processing.  Dersin was later taken before the District Court Commissioner where she was held without bond.

Charges: 4th Degree Burglary, 2nd Degree Assault (2 counts), Disorderly Conduct, Disturbance of the Peace, and Resisting Arrest
