WV health officials confirm 9 additional coronavirus deaths in latest report

The West Virginia Department of Health and Human Resources confirmed nine additional deaths in its COVID-19 update Monday.

The deaths included a 91-year old female from Cabell County, an 84-year old female from Kanawha County, a 78-year old male from Grant County, a 66-year old male from Harrison County, an 86-year old male from Harrison County, a 76-year old male from Harrison County, a 75-year old female from Kanawha County, a 71-year old female from Kanawha County, and an 83-year old female from Kanawha County.

There have been 275 COVID-19 deaths in West Virginia since the pandemic began earlier this year, with 21 deaths occurring in the past week.

The state added 121 new COVID-19 cases Monday. The daily positive test rate is 2.69 percent.
