WVU Won’t Mandate Vaccinations

May 8th, 2021 by WCBC Radio

While West Virginia University is not requiring students and faculty to get vaccinated for the coronavirus before the fall semester begins, officials are encouraging the campus community to get the doses.  The fall semester will begin on Aug. 18 with the intention of operating at pre-pandemic levels for research and educational opportunities. Online classes will continue to be offered, but institution leaders wish to have as much in-person instruction as possible.

All students and faculty will be required to take a coronavirus education module before attending classes. Officials want 80% of the campus community immunized, but more activities will begin being offered as the vaccination rate increases.
