It was the day before Christmas Eve that U.S. Senators Chris Van Hollen and Ben Cardin announced that they had secured $35.6 million in direct federal funding for local projects in Western Maryland. The earmarks are part of the fiscal year 2023 omnibus funding legislation and will encompass a wide array of local and regional priorities.
