Melissa A. Clark has been named associate director of AHEC West, a Cumberland-based nonprofit that works to improve access to and quality of health care in Western Maryland and the surrounding region. A resident of Ridgeley, West Virginia, and a native of Garrett County, Clark has been working at AHEC West since the fall of 2014 when she took the reins of the high school health careers pipeline program ECHO — Exploring Careers in Health Occupations. She will continue to coordinate the ECHO program as associate director. AHEC West Executive Director Susan Stewart, noting Clark’s experience, knowledge and enthusiasm, said she will be a major asset in helping to manage the 40-year-old nonprofit.
