Allegany Co. Attorney Blasts Tristate Zoo

Allegany County Attorney Bill Rudd blasted the owner of the Tri-State Zoological Park during Thursday night’s public meeting of the county commissioners saying that the operation is run so poorly it should be shut down. The Zoo and its owner Bob Candy have been cited on numerous occasions for violations of the Animal Welfare Act and has failed numerous inspections over the years according to a spokesperson for PETA.  Last night a local resident who has property in the Christie Road area near the zoo voiced complaints about the junk and debris scattered across the area that is not being addressed. She said in her conversations with Candy he dismisses the complaints pointing to the zoo being a commercial operation. Rudd said the county’s code enforcement officer is aware of the problem and it needs to be addressed…
