Almanac Ceases Publication

November 11th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

After 200-plus years, the Farmers’ Almanac of Lewiston, Maine is ceasing publication.  Representatives released a statement saying the 2026 edition would be its last. Based in Maine, the Farmers’ Almanac was first published in 1818.  A chaotic media environment along with publishing and distribution issues were cited as reasons. The Hagerstown Town and Country Almanack, which started in 1797, and the Old Farmers’ Almanac from New Hampshire continue to be published.
