Animal Welfare Society promotes Animal Well Being

February 23rd, 2019 by WCBC Radio

After 60 years of providing spay and neutering services for animal members of low-income families and animal health outreach, the Animal Welfare Society of Allegany County is closing its doors but not giving up its mission.  The Animal Welfare Society, through its creation of an endowed fund at Allegany College of Maryland (ACM), will promote animal wellness by educating future generations of area veterinary technicians. For Allegany County Welfare Society President Peggy McDaniel, the significant donation allows the nonprofit to live on in perpetuity. “We are pleased to support an institution with a long history of educating and training those who are passionate about caring for animals. By endowing this fund, our organization’s name and mission continue to help others within our community,” explained McDaniel.
