Anti-Fracking Citizens Address Mayor & City Council

The fracking debate came to Cumberland’s City Hall this week as a crowd packed the city council meeting room urging city officials to endorse the idea of a permanent fracking ban in the state. Maryland fracking opponents are pushing hard for a state law to prohibit the controversial gas-extraction method, but lawmakers seem more likely to extend the existing moratorium on the practice during this legislative session.  During this week’s city council meeting, more than two dozen anti-fracking citizens addressed the mayor and council members…
