Orbital ATK has received contracts valued at $53 million to produce large caliber training ammunition for the U.S. Army.
The orders include two ammunition types to be used in the Abrams main battle tank and Stryker Mobile Gun System vehicles.
Orbital ATK has delivered nearly 5 million rounds of large caliber tactical and training tank ammunition to the U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps and allied militaries over the years.
Orbital ATK designs, builds and delivers space, defense and aviation systems for customers around the world, both as a prime contractor and merchant supplier.
Its main products include launch vehicles and related propulsion systems; missile products, subsystems and defense electronics; precision weapons, armament systems and ammunition; satellites and associated space components and services; and advanced aerospace structures.
Headquartered in Dulles, Virginia, Orbital ATK employs approximately 12,500 people in 18 states, including Rocket Center, W.Va.
