Baltimore Mayor Says Student Transportation To Rally Would Be Funded Through Private Donations

Baltimore Mayor Catherine Pugh has said she wants Baltimore students to be well-represented at an upcoming rally this week in Washington, D.C. and said it could take $100,000 to fund the trip. After some criticism, the mayor emphasized that it will not be paid for with taxpayer dollars- but rather through private donations.  When students marched on City Hall two weeks ago, Pugh announced plans to bus thousands of students to D.C. later this month for the March for Our Lives rally, which was organized by survivors of the school massacre in Florida last month.
