BB&T’s Movies Under The Stars Presents Finding Nemo at Canal Place Saturday Night

BB&T’s Movies Under The Stars series continues at Canal Place this Saturday, July 30 at dusk. This month’s movie will be Finding Nemo, a 2003 American computer-animated comedy-drama adventure film produced by Pixar Animation Studios and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The film is Rated G – all ages admitted.

The film stars the voices of Albert Brooks, Ellen DeGeneres, Alexander Gould, and Willem Dafoe. It tells the story of the overprotective clownfish named Marlin who, along with a regal blue tang named Dory, searches for his abducted son Nemo all the way to Sydney Harbour. Along the way, Marlin learns to take risks and comes to terms with Nemo taking care of himself.

Finding Nemo was released on May 30, 2003, and has received universal critical acclaim. The film won the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature, and was nominated in three more categories, including Best Original Screenplay.

BB&T’s Movies Under The Stars at Canal Place are free community events and takes place on the crescent lawn at Canal Place. Moviegoers are encouraged to bring a blanket or lawn chair (no alcohol or glass containers allowed) and relax under the stars. Movies will begin after sunset or approximately 8:45 p.m., but guests are encouraged to visit early and tour the canal boat replica, enjoy shopping and dining at the Shops at Canal Place. In addition to Finding Nemo, the BB&T movie series at Canal Place will present Cars on Saturday, August 27.
