July 18th, 2025 by WCBC Radio

Pennsylvania State Police say a Bedford man is behind bars after he allegedly attempted to provoke troopers into an officer-involved shooting during a domestic dispute.  Troopers say 36-year-old Joseph Mangone is accused of arming himself with a BB gun and a baseball bat at a home in Bedford Township Thursday.  Investigators say Mangone repeatedly refused troopers' commands and had to be subdued using a taser.  Police note that he continued to act combative while being taken into custody.  According to online court records, Mangone is jailed on multiple counts of felony aggravated assault and making terroristic threats.  He is being housed at the Bedford County Jail on $250,000 bail.
