Cumberland Man Sentenced For Cocaine Distribution

(Cumberland, MD) – The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, along with the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, announced on Wednesday, Angelo Bernard Carlton Jr., 31, of Cumberland, was found guilty of Distribution of Cocaine in Allegany County Circuit Court.

After the guilty verdict, the Honorable Jeffrey S. Getty, Circuit Court Judge for Allegany County, sentenced Carlton to eighteen years’ incarceration, with six years of the term suspended, for a total of twelve years actual incarceration in the Maryland Department of Corrections.

Upon Carltons’ release, he will serve three years supervised probation.

The case was the result of an investigation conducted by members of the Allegany County Narcotics Task Force, into the distribution and sales of cocaine in Allegany County. The state was represented by Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel J. Lane. The defendant was represented by David M. Schram, Esq.
