Choose Civility to Celebrate 2nd ‘Day of Civility’ Thursday

The Allegany County chapter of Choose Civility will celebrate the county’s second annual Day of Civility is tomorrow-  April 11.  Choose Civility: Allegany County is a community-wide initiative to position the county as a model of civility by promoting civil conversations and kindness toward others. The day will be marked by a variety of events and activities open to the public, culminating in a Showcase of Civility at Allegany College of Maryland’s Student Center from 4 to 6 p.m. with a talk by Daniel Buccino at 6 p.m. Event organizers have received official proclamations from both Allegany County and the City of Cumberland.  Mayor Ray Morriss said he believes it’s important for elected officials to serve as role models when it comes to civility…

    Positioning the county as a model of civility will require positioning it somewhere else.
