Saturday evening at 11:54 PM, Cumberland Police responded to a business on Country Club Road for a domestic assault. When police arrived they learned Garrett Jenkins Olberhaus and an adult female had been involved in an argument. Olberhaus and the female entered a vehicle where Olberhaus began striking the female in the face before attempting to drive away. Several staff members of the business intervened and came to the aid of the female as police were being contacted. Police observed injuries to the female’s face. Witnesses were interviewed and evidence was collected. Olberhaus was placed under arrest for 2nd Degree Assault and Driving While Intoxicated. He was taken before a District Court Commissioner where he was held on $1000. He was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center to await his next appearance in District Court. The female suffered minor injuries but did not require medical treatment.
