City Police Make CDS, Assault & Disorderly Conduct Arrests

On Monday, September 24th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department served a warrant on Allegra Annetta Johnson charging her with CDS possession of Oxycodone. On June 12th, 2017, Johnson was stopped on I-68 by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office and a subsequent K-9 alert on her vehicle resulted in a search and the recovery of the narcotic drug. Johnson was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on her own personal recognizance pending trial.

On Monday, September 24th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Bedford Street residence for an assault complaint. When officers arrived, contact was made with a female victim that claimed she had been elbowed in the face by Austin Michael Ashley. Officers observed an injury to the victim’s face that was consistent with her statement. As a result, Ashley was arrested and charged with 2nd degree assault. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held on a $2,500 bond.

On Monday, September 24th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department arrested Michael Thomas Sharon and charged him with disorderly conduct. Sharon was contacted by police in the parking lot of the Western Maryland Regional Center after it was reported that a he and a female were involved in a disturbance in the parking lot. Sharon was placed under arrest based on his conduct and continuing to cause a disturbance while in the presence of officers. He was taken to the Cumberland Police Department and cited and released pending trial.
