City Police Serve Several Warrants

On Thursday, September 20th, 2018 the Cumberland Police Department served several warrants on Michael Thomas Shipley.  The warrants were issued by both Circuit and District Courts in Allegany County.

 

Shipley was arrested and charged with burglary, malicious destruction of property, and conspiracy to commit burglary from an incident that took place back on May 18th, 2018 when Shipley allegedly broke into shed and damaged the door on Bond Street. A bench warrant was served on Shipley issued by District Court for failing to appear for trial on June 11th, 2018 for littering charges. Another bench warrant was served on Shipley by District Court for failing to appear for trial on June 28th, 2018 for theft charges.

 

Two violation of probation warrants were served on Shipley for violating the conditions of his probation set by District Court back on April 13th, 2018 for theft, possession/issue of forged currency. A Circuit Court warrant was served on Shipley for violating terms of his supervised probation as a condition of his release back on February 6th, 2018.

 

A bench warrant was served on Shipley for failing to appear in District Court back on July 30th, 2018 to answer for driving on a suspended license. Shipley was seen by the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held on combined bond of $49,000.
