The mayor and City Council voted unanimously last month to pursue a street design that would run the entire length of the downtown pedestrian mall. The proposed street would run west to east from Mechanic Street through to George Street. While the project has been in the talking stages for several years and planning is underway- when the actual construction can begin remains very much an unknown at this time. City Administrator Jeff Rhodes said the key remains putting together a workable funding package- and that part of the puzzle remains incomplete at this time…
