Commissioners Develop Possible Solution to Fairgrounds Curfew

Two weeks ago, representatives from the Greater Cumberland Raceway approached the Allegany County Commissioners about having the curfew at the county fairgrounds extended to midnight on race nights.  That idea has been rejected, but County Commissioner Bill Valentine believes an acceptable compromise has been developed. The request was made as a result of some of the racing running over on Saturday nights and an inability to finish the schedule of events. Valentine says the proposal now on the table- starting the races earlier- should accommodate the race promoters- while not upsetting those residents who live near the fairgrounds…
