The Allegany County Commissioners voted unanimously last week to introduce a code home rule bill that will create a number of incentives for residential development in the county. A public hearing on the proposed program will be held next week and if there are no major objections it will be approved at a meeting in June. With 75% of the counties housing stock having been built prior to 1970- the county hopes the new incentives will lead to a spur in new housing development opportunities.
