Cox Gives Overview On Snow Day policies

In a three day period last week, Allegany County saw ice and sleet as well as nearly 70 degree temperatures.  The often times erratic nature of winter in western Maryland can prove challenging for the local school systems when trying to reach decisions on whether or not to close or delay school openings. Superintendent David Cox provided a general overview of the decision making process during the January meeting of the board of education. While temperatures are expected to be relatively mild this week, when more winter-like conditions return- Cox says there are specific numbers that are used in deciding what it is too cold for students…
