CPD Makes Disturbance, Assault & Theft Arrests

On October 26, 2016 at approximately 3:33 PM an Officer from the Cumberland Police responded to a N. Centre Street business for a report of a disturbance.  Upon arrival he made contact with the complainant.  She stated a male named, Steven Kienhofer, entered the store and created a disturbance.  The complainant stated Kienhofer had previously been banned from the store for creating prior disturbances.  The complainant advised Kienhofer to leave several times and he refused.   Kienhofer was still on the scene when the Officer arrived.  Kienhofer began to yell and was advised several times to cease the disturbance.  Kienhofer continued to yell and ignored the Officer’s orders.  At this point Kienhofer was placed under arrest and was transported to Police Headquarters.  Kienhofer was issued two criminal citations and released pending trial in Allegany County District Court.

Arrested:

Steven Delaine Kienhofer, age 64, Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Failure to obey a reasonable and lawful order of a Police Officer

Disorderly Conduct

 

Theft Arrest

The Cumberland Police Department served a criminal summons on Brittany Murphy.  The Cumberland Police received a call in mid October by a male who stated his medication had been stolen.  Investigation revealed that Murphy was allegedly responsible for the theft.  Charges were filed at Allegany County District Court.  The criminal summons was issued and later served on Murphy.  Murphy was released pending trial in Allegany County District Court.

Arrested:

Brittany Renee Murphy, age 24, Cumberland, MD

Charges:

Theft less than $100

CDS: Possession not Marijuana

 

Assault Arrest

On October 26, 2016 Cumberland Police Officers served a criminal summons on Annie Lee Carlton.  The summons was filed by a private citizen who stated Carlton assaulted her in mid October.  The victim stated she went to Carlton’s residence in order to pick up her children.  Carlton had been watching the children.  After her arrival an argument ensued and the victim stated Carlton assaulted her.  The criminal summons was issued and later served on Carlton.  Carlton was released pending trial in Allegany County District Court.

Charge:

Assault: Second Degree
