CPD Makes Theft & Disorderly Conduct Arrests

On Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at approximately 5:00 PM, the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Park Street business for a shoplifting complaint.  It was reported that the suspect had left the store without paying for merchandise.  Upon arrival, officers located the suspect, Justin T. Runyon, behind the store.  After investigation into the incident, officers placed Runyon under arrest for theft and transported him to police headquarters for processing.   Runyon was released on a criminal citation pending trial at the District Court of Allegany County.

 

ARRESTED:  Justin T. Runyon         AGE: 34            Cumberland, MD

CHARGES:  Theft less than $1000

DISORDERLY CONDUCT ARREST

 

On Tuesday, January 17, 2017 at approximately 6:45 PM, the Cumberland Police Department responded to the 700 block of Maryland Avenue for a pedestrian struck by a vehicle.  Upon arrival, officers secured the scene and began investigating the accident while the Cumberland Fire Department treated the victim.  While officers were attempting to preserve the crash scene, Jesse James Dillsworth III, began causing a disturbance and yelling at officers.  Dillsworth attempted to enter the scene and approach the victim after being told multiple times not to do so by officers.  Dillsworth continued to yell and refused to listen to officers.  Dillsworth was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters for processing.  Dillsworth was released on criminal citations pending trial at the District Court of Allegany County.
