CPD Makes Warrant & Marijuana Arrests

On March 27th, 2017 the Cumberland City Police responded to a disturbance at a residence on Charles Street.  When Officers arrived, they learned that one of the residents involved in the disturbance had three outstanding arrest warrants in Allegany County.  Tyler David Beal of Cumberland was placed under arrest and transported to the Cumberland City Police Station for warrant service.  He was then taken before the District Court Commissioner and remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center on a $14,000 bond.

Warrants:  Telephone misuse/harassment, Violation of probation, and Failure to pay fine.

Held on a $14,000 bond.

 

     On March 28th, 2017 the Cumberland City Police Department served two Circuit Court failure to appear warrants on Matthew Glenn Emerick Sr. of Cumberland.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and released after posting bond.

Matthew Glenn Emerick Sr, age: 33, Cumberland.

Warrants:  (2) Failures to appear for child support.

Released after posting a $200 bond.

 

     On March 28th, 2017 a Cumberland City Police Office on patrol stopped a vehicle on Maryland Avenue for a license plate violation.  Upon making contact with the driver, the officer detected an odor of burnt marihuana coming from the vehicle.  The driver, identified as John Roland Dillsworth, was removed from the vehicle and a search was conducted.  Dillsworth admitted to smoking marihuana in the vehicle and the officer seized a quantity of marihuana cigarettes from Dillsworth’s person.  He was issued a citation for marihuana possession and released pending trail at the Allegany County District Court.
