The National Park Service gave an update on projects in Allegany County during the most recent Canal Place Preservation and Development Authority meeting.  Ed Wenscholf said projects in the near future will focus on repairs, including resurfacing another 15 miles of the Tow Path with funding that was received in September…

   

“Ongoing projects, we’ve got the Oldtown breach repair we’re going to get back on there and we’re going to hopefully start that the week of the eighth of December.  Also the Tow Path resurfacing for mile 140 from 15 Mile Creek up to the Paw Paw Tunnel at mile 155.”
