On Monday, July 15th, 2019 the Cumberland Police Department responded to the area of Park Street for the report of a male with a gun. When officers arrived, the male in question was located and identified as Java Chayton Bohrer. Bohrer had in his possession a black air rifle. Witnesses in the area claimed that Bohrer pointed the air rifle at them and one witness stated they were struck in the foot with a BB. He was arrest and charged with assault, disorderly conduct, and possession/discharging an air rifle in City limits. He was taken before the District Court Commissioner and was released on his own personal recognizance pending trial.
