Cumberland Police Department Arrest Capital Heights man

On 6/29/2021 the Cumberland City Police Department were dispatched to the single digit block of King Street for an assault. Upon arrival the officer learned that Allen Jerome O’Brein had assaulted an adult and juvenile then fled the scene. The officer observed injuries to the juvenile consistent with an assault. While interviewing the victims, Mr. O’Brein started walking back towards the scene. The officer advised Mr. O’Brein that he was under arrest and Mr. O’Brein fled on foot. A foot pursuit ensued and Mr. O’Brein was eventually apprehended. Officers learned that prior to the foot pursuit and the assault, Mr. O’Brein had entered a business in the 800 block Layette Avenue and went behind the counter to steal property. Mr. O’Brein was taken to the Allegany County Detention Center where he received a hearing before a District Court Commissioner. Mr. O’ Brein was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center without bond.

Arrested – Allen Jerome O’Brein (29) Capital Heights, MD

Charges – 2 counts of Assault 2nd, 2 counts of Child Abuse, Degree Child Abuse, Resisting Arrest, Burglary 2nd Degree, Theft Less Than $100.00, Violate an out of State Protective Order, Disorderly Conduct and Disturbing the Peace.
