Maryland’s average price at the pump has been trending downward over the past week with average prices for many metro areas across the state following the trend or at least remaining flat. Today’s national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded gasoline is $2.40, down two cents in the last week, but up 12 cents over last month and is 23 cents per gallon more than this time last year. Maryland’s average cost is on par with the national average at $2.40 per gallon and is a penny less from last week. However, the state average is 11 cents higher from a month ago and 19 cents more than last year on this date. In Cumberland, the price stands at $2.42, holding steady from last week.
