Fall Festival in Downtown Cumberland

Burgmeier’s Hauling Discover Downtown Cumberland is  hosting the 4th Annual Fall for Downtown Cumberland Festival this weekend and it kicked off  Friday with a live performance by The Plate Scrapers on The McCoury Family Stage. There is a full slate of activites scheduled for Saturday’s events will start with a Fall Foliage Vendors Fair and Downtown Merchant’s Sidewalk Sale along North & South Liberty Street and various areas throughout Downtown from 10 AM until 6 PM.   The Second Annual Queen City Chili & Cornbread Challenge is scheduled from 11 AM until 3 PM at various locations in Downtown.  The fall festival will conclude on Saturday evening with a live performance by Old Salt Union on The McCoury Family Stage from 6-9 PM.  The Fall for Downtown Cumberland Festival is sponsored by the private and corporate sponsors of Discover Downtown Cumberland and all music performances on The McCoury Family Stage are free and open to the public

    Hoping for people to come downtown it would make sense for The Cumberland Times News to open it’s parking lot. Parking can be difficult to find and, if you drive by, you’ll notice that the lot is always almost completely empty.

    I totally agree with Mac about opening Times News lot. Parking in the Museum lot is also free.

    I guess this explains why my garbage was not picked up Friday. I called their office and got a recording that they were closed DUE TO LABOR DAY. Maybe they should focus on hauling garbage a while longer before they go sponsoring festivals. Just a thought. . .
