May 19th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

The Flight 93 Speaker Series is back for a second year starting in May. Free of charge to the public, the programs will focus on first-person stories and accounts of the events and aftermath of Sept. 11, 2001. The National Park Service and Friends of Flight 93 National Memorial welcome Somerset County Coroner Wally Miller and Dennis Dirkmaat, chairman of applied forensic services at Mercyhurst University, to kick off the summer-long series May 19 and 20 at Flight 93 National Memorial. Dirkmaat is a forensic anthropologist who worked on the site in September 2001. Miller worked as the local coroner who oversaw the crash site and helped family members organize the Families of Flight 93. In 2001, Dirkmaat served as the primary scientific adviser to Miller during the recovery and identification of victims of United Flight 93.
