1:20 PM Update – US 40 in LaVale has now reopened to traffic
12:00 PM: Allegany County 911 has dispatched fire and rescue units, and law enforcement to a four vehicle accident on US Route 40 at Fratelli's Restaurant.
US 40 is shut down at this time and the mishap is said to involve entrapment of at least one of the occupants of the vehicles.
The mishap was reported late in the 11 AM hour.
