Heavy Rain Tonight. Some Flood Watches Posted

April 15th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

We're getting another look at the April weather menu. At the end of last week, we had Red Flag Warning due to dry windy conditions that could have sparked a brush fire.

Rain will arrive today and continue tonight, with up to two inches, or more, expected by Monday morning. Stay tuned for weather watches and bulletins on WCBC and Classic Hits 107.

The National Weather Service in Pittsburgh has posted a Flash Flood Watch for Garrett County…

FLASH FLOOD WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON
THROUGH LATE SUNDAY NIGHT...

The Flash Flood Watch continues for

* Portions of Western Maryland, Southwest Pennsylvania, and Northern
  West Virginia.

* From Sunday afternoon through late Sunday night.

* Storm totals of 1.5 to 2.5 inches are possible during the
period. Heaviest rainfall is expected on Sunday evening.

* Flash flooding of small streams may result. Landslides are also
  a concern.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

A Flash Flood Watch means that conditions may develop that lead
to flash flooding. Monitor and be prepared to take action should
Flash Flood Warnings be issued on Sunday.
