Industrial Boulevard Site Of Two Saturday Night Mishaps

On Saturday, March 17, 2018 at approximately 8:20 PM, officers from the Cumberland Police Department and the Cumberland Fire Department responded to E. Industrial Blvd. prior to Lamont Street in reference to a hit and run accident involving a pedestrian.  Police contacted the victim who had sustained non-life threatening injuries.  Officers learned that the victim had been walking along the shoulder of E. Industrial Blvd. when a car struck the victim and failed to stop or return to the scene of the accident.  The victim was transported to the Western Maryland Regional Medical Center for treatment of her injuries.  Witnesses to the accident described the suspect vehicle as a white newer model sedan.  The vehicle had sustained damage to the passenger side, side-view mirror.  Officers were not able to locate the suspect vehicle.  The incident is still currently under investigation.  Anyone with any information is asked to contact the Cumberland Police Department at 301-777-1600.

On Saturday, March 17, 2018 just before 11:00 PM, officers from the Cumberland Police Department and the Cumberland Fire Department responded to W. Industrial Blvd. at Lamont Street in reference to a motor vehicle accident.  W. Industrial Blvd. had to be shut down for approximately 2 hours.  Investigation into the incident revealed that the at-fault vehicle pulled out from Thomas Street, crossing E. Industrial Blvd.  It then struck a vehicle which was traveling on W. Industrial Blvd.  Both vehicles sustained significant damage from the collision.  The operator of the at-fault vehicle was identified as Shauntae MacDonald-Hill.  After further investigation, MacDonald-Hill was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.  MacDonald-Hill was issued traffic citations and released pending trial.
