Judge dismisses suit from ex-head of WV deaf, blind schools

February 24th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

A Kanawha circuit judge on Thursday dismissed a lawsuit that the former superintendent for the West Virginia Schools for the Deaf and Blind filed after he was fired. Judge James Stucky said former Superintendent Martin Keller must exhaust the appeals process with the West Virginia Public Employees Grievance Board before he can make any other claims in circuit court. Ten days after he was fired, Keller filed the lawsuit against the state Board of Education. He sought to get his job back and reverse his eviction from his home on the school grounds, claiming he was denied a lawful hearing before the board fired him.
