Local Hospital Volunteer Receives National Spotlight

Good Morning America recently featured the efforts of Jeanie Shaffer, a local volunteer from Hyndman who has made over 11,000 hats for newborn babies at UPMC Western Maryland.  Mrs. Shaffer has been knitting hats for infants to stay warm for more than 15 years. UPMC recently honored Mrs. Shaffer for her years of dedication, presenting her with a scrapbook featuring pictures of some of the thousands of newborns wearing her hats…
