September 22nd, 2021 by WCBC Radio

On Tuesday, September 21st, 2021 at approximately 5:58 p.m., the Cumberland Police Department responded to a Frederick Street convenience store for the report of an armed robbery.  When officers arrived, they spoke with the attending clerk who advised that a male had entered the store; displayed a handgun and demanded cash.  The male then fled the store on foot.  A description of the male was broadcasted to additional officers canvassing the area and information was developed that the male suspect may have fled to a residence on Independence Street.  Officers were able to check that residence and the male suspect, identified as Michael Tim Suder, was located hiding in an upstairs bedroom.  He was taken into custody without further incident.  Officers also collected items at the residence connecting Suder to the Frederick Street robbery.  He was charged with armed robbery, 2 counts of theft, and 2nd degree assault.  Suder was also wanted by Mineral County, West Virginia for armed robbery and served an Allegany County District Court warrant for theft.  He was taken before the District Court Commissioner for an initial appearance and was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center held without bond.  The West Virginia warrant was used as a detainer.

C3I Criminal Investigations and the Maryland State Police also assisted in the investigation.

Michael Tim Suder, age; 39, Keyser, West Virginia.
