On December 16, 2017 at approximately 8:02 PM the Cumberland Police responded to a business in the 400 block of Maryland Avenue for a robbery complaint.
When police arrived they learned a white male wearing a black toboggan, black sweatshirt, and black pants entered the store and began acting suspiciously. The male then pulled a knife from his pocket and demanded the cashier empty the cash register. The suspect fled the area on foot with an undisclosed amount of money and was last seen running down Emily Street toward Park Street.
Police were able to view video surveillance and obtain pictures of the suspect. The suspect’s sweatshirt can be seen with a confederate flag on the front with yellow wording around the flag. Police ask anyone with information about this crime to contact them at 301-777-1600.
