Man Sentenced To 8 years For Drug Distribution In Allegany County

The Office of the State’s Attorney for Allegany County, Michael O. Twigg, State’s Attorney, announced Tuesday, May 24, 2017, that Damont Nathaniel Brown, age 25, of Gwyn Oak, Maryland was sentenced by the Honorable Judge Jeffrey S. Getty (Circuit Court for Allegany County, Maryland) to 8 years in the Division of Corrections, with 2 years suspended for the charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute Cocaine; and an additional 5 years, to run concurrent with the previous sentence, for the charge of Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana. Mr. Brown will serve a total of 6 years in the Division of Corrections. Upon release Mr. Brown will be placed on 3 years of supervised probation.

The charges stem from a traffic stop conducted by the Allegany County Sheriff’s Office. Prosecuting the case for the State was Assistant State’s Attorney Samuel Lane. Mr. Brown was represented by Stephen R. Tully, Esquire.
