Marchini Comments on Polarized Board of Education

Allegany County Board of Education President Laurie Marchini, appearing on WCBC’s “Dave Norman Show” Tuesday, was quick to dismiss accusations that she and other members of the board have been working behind the scenes to have Lorelee Farrell and Wayne Foote ousted from the board. Both Farrell and Foote suggested this week that neither has been accepted by board members Marchini, Sara Beth Bittinger or Tammy Fraley- largely due to philosophical differences. Those differences were on display last week when the board voted to retain Superintendent David Cox by a 3-1 vote- with Foote opposing, and Farrell abstaining as a result of an opinion from the board’s ethics panel.
