Maryland Coronavirus Numbers Continue to Improve

Maryland continues to report declines in key COVID-19 metrics, including another record-low positivity rate, and a decline in total current hospitalizations.
 
Statewide Positivity Rate Is Record Low 3.54%. Maryland’s seven-day average positivity rate has dropped to 3.54%—the lowest level reported since the pandemic began, and the fifth record low reported in the past week. The daily positivity rate is 4.37%. The statewide positivity rate has been under 5% since June 25, and is now 86.8% lower than its April 17 peak.
 
Total Current Hospitalizations Decline, ICU Admissions Down Nearly 23% Since July 25. There are 529 total current COVID-19 hospitalizations—a decrease of 5 over the past 24 hours. There are 121 ICU beds in use—an increase of 2. Overall, ICU admissions have declined by nearly 23% since July 25.
