Many people tout themselves as having decent knowledge of the history of Cumberland, but many of them would have trouble telling you anything about the McIntosh House. That’s not a knock. Until the local Western Maryland Facebook group conducted a search, few would have guessed that the empty house on North Mechanic Street was anything but a blighted property.
