MD Assisted Living Facilities Prepare for Reopening to Visitors

A week after allowing outdoor visits to resume at assisted living facilities that met certain criteria, Maryland Governor Larry Hogan announced a phased reopening plan for that sector.  Before relaxing restrictions, a facility must not be experiencing an ongoing coronavirus outbreak and must have been without any facility-onset cases within the last 14 days. Anyone else entering the facility must be required to wear a face covering and staff must have access to adequate personal protective equipment.  Dr. Clifford Mitchell, Director of Environmental Health of the Maryland Department of Health, said facilities meeting those requirements will be able to allow limited indoor visitation as long as visitors and residents wear face coverings and maintain proper social distancing…
