If you've been through Cresaptown toward Bel Air recently, you've likely noticed the work being done on the hillside next to D & D Motors.
We asked the Maryland Department of Transportation's State Highway Administration if traffic concerns had been addressed to the satisfaction of state engineers. SHA says that the contractor has agreed to widen the roadway at that location to allow for a turning area, and better traffic flow.
The permitting process is much easier these days. In years past, some local development has been scuttled due to either slow permitting, which took years, or no permit at all.
The issue was a priority for Allegany County Government in dealing with the Hogan Administration.

How about some clarifications? Is SHA doing the work as part of general roadway improvements or is the work being done as a result of the “improved” permitting process (ie-access point approval). If part of “someone’s “approval”, who or what are they building besides a new section of road?
