Outburst By Mayoral Candidate Calls Into Question Participation In Upcoming Forums

May 17th, 2018 by WCBC Radio

An obscenity laced outburst by Cumberland mayoral candidate Robin Hood Constitution during this week’s City Council meeting has called into question the appropriateness of allowing him to participate in upcoming candidate’s forums. WCBC’s forum featuring those running for mayor is set for May 30th. While Constitution participated in a recent Chamber of Commerce forum without incident, Mayor Brian Grim refused to invite him to a candidates meet and greet at city hall because of a threat he had made against the mayor last summer.  Allegany County Commissioner Bill Valentine said if he were in Mayor Grim’s position, he would not attempt to keep Constitution from taking part in the forums…

Chamber of Commerce executive director Stu Czapski served as moderator during the recent forum which included Constitution. He tells WCBC News that unless there is a legal reason for him not being allowed to participate in a forum, the event should permit all candidates to take part…

I would suggest that Mayor Grim simply either don’t attend because you feel unsafe or simply be armed with a gun or a non lethal weapon like mace.

So I would simply warn Mr Hood that the mayor will be prepared to defend himself and the police will attend armed and that should tell Mr Hood that the mayor will be protected
