Pair Arrested After Breaking & Entering Investigation

On Saturday, Cumberland Police responded to a Baltimore Street business for the report of a breaking and entering in progress.

The caller gave a description of two males that had just had broken into the business and left the area on foot. Officers soon after located a male in the area matching the given description of one of the two males. The male, later identified as Nathan Andrew Young, seeing the officers in the area fled on foot. After short foot pursuit, Young was apprehended in the area of Queen City Drive. He then gave the name of a juvenile male that was his accomplice and the juvenile male was located at a S. Allegany address and arrested.

The 19 year old Young was charged with burglary 2nd, conspiracy to commit 2nd degree burglary, 4th degree burglary, malicious destruction of property, theft, resisting arrest, and contributing to the delinquency of a child. He was remanded to the Allegany County Detention Center to await a bond review.

The juvenile male was charged with burglary 2nd, 4th, malicious destruction of property, and theft. The Department of Juvenile Services was notified and the juvenile was released to the custody of a parent pending trial.
